Today, we’re going to decide what to promote with our AdWords Campaign.

Plan Your AdWords Campaign

You should not try to promote your whole business or website with a single AdWords Campaign. Instead, pick a particular product, service, or piece of information you want to advertise. You may also consider targeting a particular audience or geographic location.

For example, if you sell custom printed apparel in the St. Louis area, you may want to do a single campaign about custom baseball hats, targeted to Missouri and Illinois.

For my campaign, I will focus on promoting my web design services to writers and authors.

When thinking about what to promote with your campaign, consider where the people who click on the ad will go (in AdWords terms, the destinatio nurl). They shouldn’t simply be taken to the homepage of your site. Rather, they should land on a page focused on the topic of your campaign.

Do you have a page on your site already dedicated to the particular product or service your promoting? Does it have a strong call to action? Or will you have to create a new page?
