What is a Facebook Page?
A Facebook Pages are to businesses and organizations what Profiles are to people. Even though someone may say “check out my Facebook page,” they are probably referring to their personal Facebook Profile. But anyone, usually businesses, bands, websites, non-profits, etc., can also create one or more Facebook Pages. Here are some examples:
What is on a Facebook Page?
By default, a Facebook Page has several tabs:
- Wall
Much like on a Profile, you can post status updates, links, tidbits
- Info tab
For basics about your business: contact info, hours, website, etc.
- Photos tab
Photos (or other images)
- Discussions
You or fans can start discussion topics
- Boxes
Here you can add third-party applications, such as a YouTube Box or newsletter signup form, or a custom-built application
What can you do with a Facebook Page?
Besides offering basic information about whatever it is you’re promoting, you can:
- Offer coupons and discounts
- Interact with customers and fans
- Post news, photos, and videos
- List events
- Offer resources such as links to other sites
