My first weekly tutorial completed
I made a New Years’ resolution to complete one tutorial a week, to continue learning about the software and programming languages used in web design.
This week I found an excellent one on PSDTuts.com. Since I’m not really interested in the end result, a good tutorial for me has to teach me some new techniques along the way, that I can use in whatever type of Photoshop file I’m working on.
This one taught me one incredibly useful trick that I’m embarrassed to admit I didn’t know: Command-clicking on a layer’s thumbnail makes a marquee selection of everything in that layer. So handy! It also introduced me to the Warp filter, which is really powerful, and real uses for Spherize (other than making things look goofy).
