Playing in a Textile Sandbox
Textile, the simple markup system used by my favorite CMS, Textpattern, is fast to use once you learn it, but it does take a little getting used to.
In order to help clients pick it up, I’ve recently been installing a “Textile sandbox” on clients’ servers. This page allows you to put in Textile, and then see what the result is —both the formatted text, and the underlying code. It can be a helpful learning tool, or a place to test formatting you want to put in an article.
The neat thing about the sandbox (over the Preview pane) is that the text actually appears with the styles used on your website. So if your level 3 headings are purple and all caps, that’s what you will see. You can check out my Textile sandbox
