Promoting your website online
It’s a good feeling to have your website complete, looking great, and filled with relevant content about your business. But how do you get people to visit your new online real-estate? Here are a few free ways to promote your website online, along with links to more resources:
- Post to others’ blogs and forums
You can often include your url when posting to blogs and forums. Be sure that the site is relevant to your business, and that you are contributing positively to the discussion.
- Email signatures
Create an email signature that displays your business name, url, and possibly your tagline. You can also include your logo, but be aware not everyone will see it.
- Review it
Post online reviews of books and other products related to your business. Amazon is a great site for this. (Check out my profile on Amazon). You can add your url to your profile, and not only write reviews, but also lists and guides on any topic.
The flip side of this is, you need to be careful what you review as yourself, since people can easily see a list of all your reviews.
- Google and Yahoo groups
Look for a Google Goup or a Yahoo Group related to your field, and join the discussion. Or start your own. Also look for questions you can answer on Yahoo Answers.
