The Textpattern interface
When you first log in to Textpattern, the first page you see is the Write page, where you publish and edit all of your articles. But there are other useful pages as well, accessed by the tabs across the top, or with the pull-down menu in the upper right corner. Many are only used in the nuts-and-bolts building of the site, but others are for you to add and manage content. These pages are all in the aptly-named Content section, and here is a summary of each.
- Categories
Here, you can add and manage categories for all your various types of content: articles, links, images, and files. Categories must be created here before an article or image can be assigned to them.
- Write
This page should be familiar to you. It is where you publish or edit all of your articles, from blog posts to "sticky" content such as About Me information. See The Write page for more on this page.
- Articles
On this page, you can see a list of all your existing articles. You can view them several different ways, such as by date or title, and you can change their category or section, or delete them altogether. If you click on an article title, you will open that article for editing on the Write page.
- Images
There is a lot to be said about uploading images on the Images page, so I will do it in a separate post.
- Files
- Links
Besides the links you may include in the text of an article, you can also have a list of links on your site. Those links are managed on this page, where you can add, delete, and categorize them.
- Comments
If you ever have occasion to delete a comment (if you think it is spam or if the comment is out of line) this is the page you need.
