July, 2002. I designed 2 wine lables for Bill Peck, a hobbyist vintner based near Santa Cruz, California. He wanted two distinct labels. The white was to feature native California flora and/or fauna and be called "Chaparral Cellars." I used a combination of Freehand, water colors, and Photoshop to create this design. The red was to feature a red-headed woodpecker and be called (with tongue in cheek) "Peckerhead Red." Each label required space for Mr. Peck to write in the specific type and year of the wine.
